Lancashire Derby and have never been to Turf Moor before, couldn’t miss it.
Attempted to get the train but got cancelled a couple hours beforehand, had to settle with a drive.
Got moved around several times due to poor stewarding, not really any issues with the view.
Burnley fans loud in the first half but hardly existed after 30 mins. Preston fans loud throughout.
1/10 as it was the Lancashire derby haha.
Police vans everywhere but expected for a derby. For some reason the town’s market was on whilst the town was packed full of football fans, causing a bit of an obstruction trying to get out.
£15 for U18 ticket and £6.50 for return train, of which we only used the return leg. Can’t complain, just over £20 for an away day is brilliant.
100%, as long as your team’s fans aren’t as funny about sitting in their seats like ours are.
I thought that this was one of our best chances to get some points away from home this season, and it is always nice to tick another ground off the list.
I took the coach, which was pretty simple. Burnley is quite a small place compared to most Premier League teams, so there was less traffic getting in than normal. We were parked close to the ground when we got off, and then they bought the coaches round to just in front of our stand after the game which made it very simple to get back there. Traffic getting out was alright, took around half an hour to get moving properly though.
I got a pie and a tango in the ground. The pie was very good actually, probably the best so far this season and then the drink they poured out from the bottle into a plastic cup which was a bit of a pain on the terrace but I see why they do it.
The away end at Burnley was quite good I thought. It is behind the goal and there is a pillar which was a bit of a pain but it didn’t block it too much from where I was sitting and there weren’t any seats directly behind it. We were lucky because we were the first row in front of a barrier in a new block which meant there was no one that close in front of us so we got a good view. There was also a large tent near the concourse with more food and drink so there was lots of space, but only one toilet that I saw and it wasn’t that big so there was quite a queue after the game.
Away end was really good, think it helped that it is all over one level unlike some places so everyone is together. Ground wasn’t full, I am not sure how many were there but I would say it was around 80-85% full. Fans to our left were quite loud at times but not consistently, better home atmosphere than some grounds though. Very loud booing towards the ref at half time as they thought they should have had some penalties.
8/10 – had a nice chat with a fan outside the ground who pointed out one of their players coming in in his fancy car.
Wasn’t as bad as some places, especially once the coach got away. Don’t think there was anywhere near as much traffic as other grounds and we got away quite quickly.
I think I spent about £80-£85, which is fair enough since Burnley is miles away from Norwich. I had a good day out so I think it was worth it.
Definitely – the surrounding area near the ground isn’t amazing but once you get in there it is an alright little ground and an alright view. Really friendly fans and the stewards were all really really nice.
We went to the game because my 10 year old son is a Palace fan, and my own team Partick Thistle didn’t have a game that day, and yes I was really looking forward to it.
We travelled by train from Glasgow to Preston, very easy, then Preston to Burnley Manchester Road, which was also very easy. However, it was only a 2 carriage train and it was jammed and was the same on the return from Burnley.
We went to Burnley Cricket Club next to the stadium, which was a good mix of Burnley & Palace fans, young, old, & families, with a really good friendly atmosphere.
We just picked up something from Subway and Tesco.
There was a good variety of food and drink available inside the ground.
We sat in Row G behind the goal, which was a great view and was very close to the pitch. They were old wooden seats with plenty of leg room.
The atmosphere was amazing from the Palace fans & the Burnley fans in the same stand.
10/10
Very easy to get away from the stadium, but a bit of a hike back up the hill to the train station.
We spent £24 on train, £45 on match tickets and around £50/£60 on food & drink, it was a great day out for what was spent.
Yes, definitely.
Burnley fans, the local police & match stewards were all very friendly.
Try to get to most games. Burnley always a good away day!
I was a passenger in a car so very easy for me!
Having been a few times, Turf Moor is very easy to find.
Burnley Cricket Club, mixed fan base, and a laid back atmosphere.
We ate at Burnley Cricket Club too and it was good value for money.
There is a nice marquee inside ground for food and beer. Lovely pies and normal priced drink.
Very good view from the away end.
Atmosphere in the away end was top notch!
7/10
Parked in Cricket Club so best to go back inside after game to let the traffic die down.
70 pounds, very good value.
Very much so!
